Thatched Thinking

Every town or city that is famous and a tourist attraction or just a place that people like to be, is usually that way because of its buildings.

Whether they are new or old, it is buildings that make a place a desirable centre for activity of all description. So any attempt to improve the fabric of the town and its buildings is a good thing, as it helps and benefits not just the residents but thousands of people who visit over the years bringing wealth to the town.

Therefore what may seam a waste of money on a pavement will in fact actually benefit every person in the town either directly or indirectly, whether they themselves use it or not.

We all have different priorities and tastes as to what things should look like, so be aware any positive addition to the town will be indirectly helping you without you realising it.

There are very strict guide lines and rules as to what can be done and planning is always required. Therefore if something springs up overnight and you object strongly, then you may not be so caring as you might have thought.

To be part of the process you must back your occasional interest with constant vigilance of your surroundings. Then take the available opportunities to put your views forward in the planning stages.
