The M2249 Dummy Load permits a
radar system to be bench tested
without radiating. It can be used with
any 3 cm. system provided RF mean
power does not exceed 25W and peak
power does not exceed 100 kW. The
dummy load has a directive feed
attenuator which can be connected to
a C39242 Absorption Wattmeter. A
matched load is fitted to the output
flange of the directive feed and must be
removed in order to connect the
wattmeter.
The C39242 Absorption Wattmeter
enables a comparative measurement
of transmitter power output to be made
by noting the height of a glowing neon
column in a tube having an arbitrary
calibration of 2 to 9 centimetres and
comparing it with readings taken at
other times with the same wattmeter.
