Dame Elizabeth Neville takes up the Blunkett wheeze and installs a Community Police Post at 13 Hobbes Close where local beat officers can take their meal breaks and get up to speed on local crime from the culprits themselves who also have their drop in centre in the same building. The premises are easy to locate as an Australian style scarecrow now stands in a prominent position for all to see, where residents can quickly find an officer or crook as required.
Neighbour, Mrs Jobbins said its a wonderful initiative and was eager to point out that the project is being funded by local Head Master Mr Trobe, out of his own pocket. The recently renovated building with its Scotland Yard style rotating scarecrow is to be officially opened by the Mayor of Malmesbury Mr John Bowen at a date to be set during the next season of council meetings.
An open evening will be held on Saturday the 27th of September from 4.00pm onwards, everybody is welcome and the Bourbon Street Paraders will be on hand to entertain all with their excellent Jazz performances.
